Working film camera Kiev Vega-303 Vintage Soviet Subminiature Spy Camera, 16mm. Camera used, body repainted, fully working. Look carefully photos and video, if there are questions please contact me. The Kiev-303 is a miniature (microformat) rangefinder camera manufactured at the Arsenal factory in Kiev since 1990. It was a restyled version of the Kiev-30 camera with a modified appearance and different exposure settings. The inner body is metal, similar to the body of the Kiev-30 camera. The inner light-tight body contains the lens, shutter, and film rewind mechanism. The external removable plastic cover houses the viewfinder; in the transport position, the cover closes the shutter release button, shutter, lens, and focus ring. The shutter is cocked and the film is rewound by sliding the inner body of the camera into and out of the cover. The shutter is a curtain shutter with horizontal movement of metal curtains. It is located in front of the lens. The shutter has a fixed aperture, and the exposure time is adjusted by changing the speed of the curtains. Compared to the Kiev-30 camera, the exposure values have been changed to 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, and 1/250 seconds (a fourth exposure has been added). When cocked, a red mark is visible on the curtain. The exposure is set using a ring on the side of the camera. The frame counter is automatic with manual setting to the initial position when loading the film. There is no sync contact. The viewfinder is frame-type, and viewing is only possible when the cover is extended. The lens is an Industar-M, coated, with a relative aperture of 1:3.5 and a focal length of 23 mm. The diaphragm is two-bladed, with a square aperture. It is controlled by a ring on the side of the camera. The camera came with a soft case and a strap. The kit included a disc for the most common single-spiral film cartridge of those years and an insert frame for a photo enlarger. There is no tripod socket. Look carefully at the photos and videos! This rare camera takes 10x14mm images on 16mm film and features a collapsible optical viewfinder, built-in selenium light meter, and manual exposure controls. Lens: Mamiya-Sekor 25mm f/2.8 (stops down to f/16) Film: 16mm film (Mamiya special cassette). Shutter speeds: 1/2s – 1/200s + B (Bulb). Focus: Manual, down to 0.3m (1 foot). Built-in selenium meter with manual analog calculator. Zone focusing by slider control. Built-in “X” flash synchronization (PC socket). Metal body, compact design. 104 x 49 x 31mm. Its shutter does not fire and it is missing its film winder knob, the tiny screw that holds the front panel on, and the tiny red film window from its backside. Minox B with rare green case. This is a pretty common Minox camera. What I find unusual is the Minox factory leather case in forest green. I have never seen a green case for these and it is a genuine Minox case. Despite being a super coomon camera you can get this one with a rare green case!

Kiev-30M is an upgraded version of the legendary Kiev-30, produced by the Arsenal Factory in Kyiv between 1983 and 1990. Like its predecessor, it was designed for 16mm unperforated film, making it one of the smallest fully mechanical cameras ever made in the USSR – often referred to as a spy camera for its discreet size and function. What sets the 30M apart is its refined mechanics, improved film transport system, and modern design with ribbed grip. It’s compact, precise, and full of Cold War character. Type: Subminiature film camera. Film format: 16mm unperforated film in special cassette (not included). Frame size: 13×17 mm. Lens: Industar-M 23mm f/3.5 (coated). 1.5m to infinity. Shutter speeds: 1/30 – 1/200 sec. Aperture range: f/3.5 to f/11. Film advance: Sliding body mechanism (pull to cock). Flash sync: PC sync socket. Power: Fully mechanical (no batteries required). 85 × 40 × 30 mm. Made in: USSR, Arsenal Factory (Kyiv). ? Backstory – From Pocket to Power. I found this Kiev-30M at an antique fair in Chernivtsi, inside a Soviet cigarette case. The guy who owned this never smoked – he just wanted people to think he wasn’t taking photos. After a gentle clean and a full dry test, I was amazed at how smooth the sliding mechanism was. The shutter fires perfectly, the optics are clear, and the camera’s minimalist beauty still holds up. Whether for shooting, collecting, or displaying – this is a pocket-sized piece of espionage history. Fully tested and working. Shutter responsive at both speeds. Lens is clean: no haze, fungus, or scratches. Sliding mechanism smooth and functional. Viewfinder clear and usable. Body in excellent vintage condition – minor wear from age.
