Kiev-30 is a Soviet miniature (microformat) scale camera, produced at the Kiev plant “Arsenal” from 1975 to 1987. The camera uses 16-mm non-perforated or perforated photographic or cinematographic film in a plastic cassette from the Vega-2 camera, which looks like a 110-type cassette. The cassette is designed for 25 frames with a size of 13 × 17 mm. It is not possible to rewind the tape. It is possible to change the cassette at any time, while only a small part of the film (about 20 mm) was exposed. The body – metal, consists of an outer removable casing and an inner opaque body, which contains the lens, shutter, film rewind mechanism. The external removable aluminum casing houses the viewfinder; in the transport position, the casing covers the shutter release button, shutter, lens and focusing ring. The shutter is cocked and the film is rewound by pushing-out the inner camera body into the casing. Curtain shutter with horizontal movement of metal shutters. Located in front of the lens. The shutter has a constant slit, the shutter speed is regulated by changing the shutter speed. Only three shutter speeds are possible – 1/30, 1/60 and 1/200 seconds. When cocked, a red mark is visible on the shutter. Setting of shutter speeds – by a ring brought out on the side wall of the chamber. Automatic self-resetting frame counter. The sync contact “X” is installed on the inner case, the sync delay can be any. There is no clip for a flash. The viewfinder is frame, sighting is possible only with the cover extended. Lens “Industar-M”, coated, relative aperture 1: 3.5, focal length 23 mm. The diaphragm is two-blade, with a square aperture. Control – a ring brought out to the side wall of the chamber. On the outer casing there is a calculator – a tabular exposure meter for approximate determination of shutter speed and aperture based on weather conditions. The camera was supplied with a soft case and a lanyard. The kit included a disk for the single-spiral photo tank, which was the most widespread in those years. There is no tripod socket. Vintage SUBMINIATURE CAMERA IN DISPLAY BOX circa 1960s. Made in Hong Kong, about 1.50 inches tall. Comes with a box of six (6) tiny rolls of film made for toy spy cameras (this is from the 1950s), unused. Photo for the film shows front and back of the box and the six (6) unwrapped rolls of film, with a quarter next to them to demonstrate their size. It is highly unlikely that the toy film will be functional, but nice to display with your toy subminiature camera. If you have an issue, just let us know, and send a photo of any problems. We do not clean any collectibles nor antiques. We leave that to our customers to take care of. Do not allow children to handle. Do not use for consumption or usage.
