This unusual subminiature camera is shaped like a fat pen, and even has a pocket clip on the side. Its leather case looks like a eyeglasses case, so the “pen” could be disguised even more. There is a small crack at the top that can be seen in the picture and I have no idea if the piece works. Secam of France marketed a number of Stylophot cameras in the 1950s, and this is a variant that was marketed only in the United States in 1955. It is not marked “Stylophot, ” but it is identical to the Secam Stylophot Color camera except for the “Private Eye” name on the front. Those familiar with the pull/push slide action film advance of Minox subminiature cameras may enjoy the pull/push film advance action using the silver film advance plate at the top of the camera. There is a small split in the plastic camera body near this film advance plate.
