The rare ” IIIS (Model A) ” vintage Minox Spy Camera is a highly sought-after subminiature camera known for its discreet design and advanced features. The cosmetic condition of this camera is good, all chrome parts are still shining, however, the right side of the leatherette is missed due to its age, but it can be restored easily. The camera itself comes with the Optor 25mm f3.5 lens, which is free of scratch. The camera also comes with a rare Cherry Tele 40mm f5.6 lens. However, the focus and aperture of the lens are very sticky, I believe the lubrication oil had dried out after years of restoration. The camera and lens all come with their leather case. It had a built-in reflecting type viewfinder. An optional sports finder. Detectives liked that camera since it could be hidden in an empty cigarette wrapper. Thus it became a true detective camera. Since the company could sell hundreds to police stations and private detectives. In Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Year of launch: 1946. Film: cartridges for double perforated 16mm film (24 exposures per cartridge). Lens: achromatic doublet f6.3 lens, focusing fixed. Aperture: 1:11 (bright), 1:8 (dull), and 1:6.3 (color) selectable.

This is a quite rare Minox IIIS subminiature camera. This one was made in the mid 1950’s. Camera is UNTESTED but seems to function properly. With leather case and metal lanyard. Camera is stamped MINOX WETZLER. Camera has been custom engraved with “Te SELLE” no idea what it means.

The lenses have dust on them (would recommend cleaning if you intend to use). I have not opened the camera up itself but it’s in really great condition for its age.
